Here are some things you might like to know
When is my first day? |
---|
Your first day is Monday 6 September - we can't wait to see you! |
What do I need to bring? |
---|
Don't worry, we will email your parents over the summer with a few more details. In terms of things you will need to have for your first week and beyond, have a look at page 24 of the Year 7 Curriculum Guide. |
What will I do during my induction day? |
---|
On your first day and indeed for the rest of the week, you’ll take part in a series of introductory activities. You will get to know your way around the school as well as spend time with your new House and Form Tutors. You’ll also meet your Head of Year and Assistant Head of Year, so that you know who to go to with any problems. |
What happens during the rest of my first week? |
---|
You'll be getting straight into lessons (although for the first fortnight you won’t be set any homework) which will give you the opportunity to meet classmates and get to know your new timetable. Importantly, you’ll get the chance to sign up for co-curricular activities, and if you’re ready, jump straight in to all that is on offer. |
I'm a little bit nervous ... |
---|
Starting Secondary School can be daunting but we’re confident that once you’ve been here for a few days, you’ll feel part of the Putney family. Don't worry, we make sure of this by giving you the best start possible. |
What might my parents want to know?
When will I meet my daughter's teachers? |
---|
There will be an opportunity for parents to meet your daughter's teachers (hopefully in person, but if not, virtually) at our Welcome Evening on Thursday 9 September. |
How do I meet other parents? |
---|
Our amazing parents' association, FOPHS (Friends of Putney High School), provide loads of ways for you to get to know other's in the year group. Not only do they host a number of events throughout the year where you can meet parents from your daughter's year group, but they also share contact lists with members over the summer so that you can join our network of parents and get in touch with parents of other pupils in your daughter’s house and form group. If you have not already done so, please click here to find out more and be included on this list. |
How can I find out more about FOPHS? |
---|
Here is a little video from the Chair, Jane Day, explaining more about the Friends of Putney High School... |
You can also see the rest of the committee here and head to their page on the school website for more information.
Are there any events happening before September? |
